Professor Yan created and combined Chinese calligraphy with Chinese Guzheng, western opera, piano, cello to reform a new visual art.

Opera Carolina, the Bechtler Museum of Art, and the Confucius Institute at Pfeiffer are collaborating on a multi-media recital to be presented on January 20, 2013 at the Bechtler Museum. The program will be a combination of traditional Chinese calligraphy, music and poetry, Western art song and opera.
